Ecuadorian Visa

To visit Ecuador for less then 90 days you don't need a visa, for more then that, you need to go through a process through the embassy and acquire a number of documents. Spent five hours today getting passport photos, a letter from my bank, and most obnoxiously, a criminal record scan from the central police station in DC. A saint at the Ecuadorian embassy stayed 2 hours late to wait for my criminal record, and got me my Visa. Thank you sir, and curse you DC police department.

Las Tolas

The Village I am staying in is called Las Tolas. It's one of the remaining homes of Yumbo culture, and its deep in the Andean Cloud Forests. Check out their website (how I initially found the village). Still getting prepared for my trip, had a great summer as a waiter at a French restaurant, but happy now to be relaxing before an adventure.

Welcome to my blog! This is my first post. I am still in the USA, my flight to Quito is September 3rd. Getting my stuff together and ready to go. Got a new camera and a backpack, and am getting excited.
